We decide in Units.
Our decision is made based on what Unit it’s in.
No matter where in the Range the price is.
Because of costs, we had to charge $34 for Jodhpurs.
So we charged $39 because it’s in the $30 Unit.
Again, because people decide in Units, not inside the Range that represents the Unit,
it makes no difference. It’s still just a Unit decision.
It was ‘only’ 0.003% additional profit …but of almost $4,000,000,000 sales.
A net $12,000,000 !
Extra.
Because people decide in Units.
OK, so?
Apply this thinking to Garage Sales, your art sales, Office Lottery, etc.
You can charge a LOT more than you think, most of the time.
And still get the same results.
And more money.

And there’s your problem.
“13 Bathrooms?? What a waste!”
“40 acres! What do you do with all that land?
If you aren’t farming, it’s a waste of good land.”
YET:
How many televisions do you have in your house?
How many chairs?
How many ‘inside’ doors, … that you never close?
Rugs on top of perfectly good floors?
Extra pillows on your sofa(s)?
Sweaters?
etc.
If those are not ‘waste’…
So, time to rethink.
I have my idea of what luxury is and my idea of what necessity is.
All I have to do is change my idea of what luxury is.
Stop thinking it’s waste. Make it a necessity. (See # 58 )
Then, like magic, I accumulate more luxury.

]]>Nearly $200. For lunch.
No big deal.
When we returned to the office I went to the warehouse.
I noticed the boxes were being over-wrapped for delivery.
By at least .03 cents.
Very big deal!
When I said this to the person in charge he said,
“You sure are strange. You just spent almost $200 for one lunch and now you complain about 3 cents!”
A one-time lunch, almost no matter how expensive, is cheap compared to an every-day overspending of any amount of money. We ship over 1,000 boxes per day. Three cents adds up to around $10,000 a year.
You can have a lot of unexpectedly expensive lunches and still not come anywhere near that amount of money.
So, why say this?
The exact same thing applies to you and your everyday actions.
Eating, a bit too much.
Frowning, a bit too much.
Smiling, a bit too much.
With family and friends, this is exactly how you establish your relationship with them.
And then you wonder why things are the way they are.
When you notice you’re over doing it “just a bit”, give your memory a quick check.
Is it ongoing or just once?
If ongoing, pull back a bit. It will make a world of difference.

]]>These are really the things NOT motivated by anyone else in your life. These come directly from you, for you.
So make a list and check it. You’ll find you can actually do many of these now.
And easily!
What holds you back are your thoughts of what others would think regarding your desires that are NOT originating from other-than-you. They are ‘only’ your thoughts and wants /desires.
You possibly think that that is selfish.
And what if it is.
What exactly does being selfish mean? Not in general. In this case.
To think clearly ask yourself this:
Who is harmed, who gains, who benefits.
(Ask yourself this each time you hesitate doing something)
And look at the answers.
It’s your list. Why wait?

Within one year I realized that I did NOT really want a mansion.
What a complete surprise!
When I finally had enough money to build a nice home, I built… not a mansion!
And am I ever glad that I did that imagine thing.
By doing this I also found I don’t want:
A private Chef
An airplane
Lots of homes all over the world
A large yacht
The same goes for anything you ‘want’ and cannot easily get right away.
And what an easy way to see if you really do want it!
The smaller the item the less time it typically takes to burn-in or burn-out that desire.

If only these were a perfect complement to our body.
But they aren’t.
And, if only there was a way to test for this.
But there isn’t.
So what to do?
Simple.
Variety is the absolute best answer.
Buy your (same) vitamins from 3 or 4 different brands and mix them up in a larger container.
Then when you take that vitamin you’ll be taking a slightly different composition each time. Or maybe not.
Same with food.
Buy from different suppliers and you’ll get product from different areas of the countries. This gives you different ratios of trace elements and minerals.
Since I’m doing this my overall well being dramatically increased.
Those people who travel extensively know exactly what I mean.
