This is also absolutely true with your thoughts /attitude.
What results do you expect from basic concept-seeds that say:
* „Ah well, I’m just not good at this. I never was.“
* „I always stumble. It’s just the way I am.“
* „I am shy /slow /dumb etc.“
Watering these seeds will result in getting…
exactly that back.
You shouldn’t be surprised, it’s what you now experience.
And you use that very non-changing result (Watering those seeds)
as some sort of proof that you are right, you are that way.
So to progress, simply start with a seed, no matter how small.
After all a seed is just that. A seed.
But that’s all you need to succeed.
„I am getting better and better at (fill in your subject /seed) as time goes by.“

Well, why do you try to build an Impossible Self-Image for yourself?
For example, how quickly and readily do you accept blame for your errors?
Now, how quickly and readily do you accept credit for things well done?
See, an Impossible Self-Image has only one side.
Oh, it works both ways.
If you easily accept credit, how easily do you accept blame.
Impossible Self-Images are not real.
Accepting both blame and credit contributes to a healthy, balanced Self-Image.

Think of something you were afraid of, when you were a child.
(Spiders, snakes, the dark, etc.)
Are you still afraid of it now?
See, it cleared itself up as time went by.
(OK, so why hasn’t everything cleared up!)
Because the mind works by priorities.
First, it must help diffuse current emotional bombs.
Before it works on ‚past‘ issues.
Many people are aware of the benefits of Meditation, prayer, restful sleep.
Now you know why.
The mind can, and does, clear itself up …when you don’t cause it to come to your aid.
Of course, any activity that does not trigger emotional bombs, works.
So, Go Fishing.
