You need at least two points.
OK, so?
Well, you also need two events.
Two. Not just one.
How many things now influence you based on experiencing just one event.
One time.
One point.
The Boston Marathon comes to mind.
So does any one-time act of terror.
And that event last week, …whenever you read this!
The reverse is also true.
If you are continuously on a line that has many, many points on it,
what exactly do you think tomorrow brings if you stay on that line.
Hmmm, let’s see now, there’s more than two points, so I can easily say:
Exactly the same.

Ok, so?
If Hard Work ‘works’ then you face a future with more of it.
And you don’t want that.
Sooo, you simply do not succeed.
And save yourself from a future you don’t want.
(Of course, you stay where you are!)
Athlete training sessions are Hard Work.
However they always end up after the “Hard Work” with a feeling of satisfaction, /fulfillment, etc.
And that you want.
Either look for the satisfaction in your Hard Work
or
Stop working hard thinking it leads to an acceptable future.

]]>Even one tenth of a second off and you might well lose.
Many believe life is a Sprint race, so the moment they make a couple of mistakes they realize they won’t win and change races. Again.
Ok, so?
Well, consider
most ‘races’ in life as Marathons.
It’s not so very important how well you start the race.
Even if you make mistakes.
Far more relevant how you pace yourself.
And, most important of all, if you continue long after your initial desire fades.
I read so very many resumes that state just how great the individual is and how they saved the company or increased sales dramatically.
My response is always “If you did so well over and over again, why do you always leave?”
The success you want comes at the end of the Marathon and not by doing a lot of Sprints.
Reality check: Happy with your Results?

That’s when Me Messages come into play,
If you don’t like what people say to you then rather than attack or keep silent, try a Me Message:
“I feel bad /hurt about what you are saying to me now.”
And then no matter how they reply, just repeat.
“That may be so, but I just want you to know I feel hurt about what you are saying to me now.”
NOT “I don’t appreciate, I dislike, etc.”
More like “I hurt because of this.”
There is no defense when no one attacks.
And if you send a Me Message you are NOT attacking.
You are not even defending — which is a form of attack.
You simply state your feelings of hurt. Period.
Again, Too simple?
Really?
Without even trying it?

In fact, I bet everyone lies
in every country.
“Am I fat?”
“Am I ugly?”
“Are we almost there?”
“Will it hurt?”
These are easy answers, …when you lie.
What about ‘fat & ugly’ in a business sense.
Now you have to compare telling the truth with … embarrassment.
My only guideline is to never lie for personal gain.
Then I feel fine.
