I sit at the annual meeting. This time it’s Bongo drums.
Each year they try a different thing.
(Did I mention this time it’s Bongo Drums!)
And I have no desire to play the silly things. Banging on a Bongo drum is not my idea of motivation.
Yet after a certain amount of time I start to get into the spirit of it all.
And I enjoy myself.
Yet if you ask me before hand, do I desire to sit through a session of Bongo drums, I’d say no.
I have no desire to do that.
And shy people have no desire to get ‘un-shy’ or timid people ‘un-timid’.
An alcoholic friend has no desire to give up alcohol.
Hmmm, maybe we should look at those very things that we avoid or have no desire for.
Maybe those are the very things that we need to look at, or do, or have happen to us.
Next time I won’t be so quick to try to get my desire.
Let something ‘undesired’ happen to you and see if it’s not the very thing you really need.

Well said, George. I had a very similar reaction. Good to see you again in San Diego,
