Remind yourself of how many there are relative to how many are being affected.
And relax.
Because these days there are Lots More reports on the same event.
And Lots More reports are from literally the other side of the world.
Nothing changes when you worry about the possibility of it happening to you and yours.
The actual percentage of negative things happening is actually Lots Less year by year:
Larceny (since) 1990 – Down One third
Burglaries 1980 – Down Half
Auto thefts 1990 – Down One Third
Violent crimes 1973 – Down One Third
