Often people polarize things into<\/p>\n

Do \/Don’t — Yes \/No — Right \/Wrong, \u00a0… annnd, you’re for<\/em> me or you’re against<\/em> me.<\/p>\n

That’s one of the major causes of conflicts, both inter-personal<\/strong> and inter-national<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These are the brittle good\/bad reactions that accompany the inexperienced (aka: nouveau riche or\u00a0nouveau powerful … or nouveau parents!)<\/em><\/p>\n

Every time we think our Either – Or<\/em><\/strong> conclusions are God given and God authorized, ‘reality’ intervenes and we all learn.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In World War I<\/strong> the point was to nobly march standing up into the machine guns’ fire from the other side.<\/p>\n

If you tried to duck, your own person would shoot you dead.<\/p>\n

SO better a possible \/probable situation than a certainty of death.<\/p>\n

The slogans were variously: Got Mit Uns, In God We Trust<\/em><\/strong>, etc.<\/p>\n

Then around World War II <\/strong>the word Strategy<\/span> was introduced into our thinking.<\/p>\n

Ducking bullets now changed from cowardice to clever strategy.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Life is a lot more than one<\/strong> point of view.<\/p>\n

Good writers can get me to consider only one particular point of view to achieve their aims in writing their stories.<\/p>\n

And I readily read them.<\/p>\n

And then read someone else’s novel the next day.<\/p>\n

I believe if I read enough novels I become immune to any one point of view.<\/p>\n

When you next feel you’re in an impossible situation consider AND – AND<\/em><\/strong> instead of Either – Or<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

See how quickly things clear up.<\/p>\n
