I never run faster than I can because I would trip over myself and fall.
So I always stay a safe amount away from my fastest:
(…………………x….)
Yet one time I had to run faster than I ever thought I could.
And fell and ripped my pants at the knee.
From then on I ran just short of my fastest and, of course, never fell again.
So why am I saying this?
Because how fast I was running before I fell was sooo much faster than I thought I could run, it surprised me:
(…………………………………………..x)
From now on my new ‘safe’ speed looks like this:
(……………………………………….x….)
as compared to:
(…………………x………………………..)
How many things are you holding yourself back on that have changed? How do you know if you never test those limits!
Rather than ‘obey’ your limits, let yourself stretch and see what your current limits really are.
