All too often we forget just how ritual-istic Compliments are.
Especially if an ‚inferior‘ pays a compliment to a ’superior‘ (ie: Child to Parent)
What would they know.
Or ’superior‘ to ‚inferior‘. (ie: Boss to Employee)
He’s just being kind because of his position.
We almost never, as equals, trade compliments.
So how to really give a compliment to an equal (or a superior) and make it count?
Simple.
Mention the compliment to another person, but within earshot of the intended recipient.
I tend to ignore most compliments,
but I always accept those I ‚overhear‘ about myself.
