Emotion is there to focus attention. The more negative the emotion, the narrower your focus. The happier the emotion is, the broader your focus. In a negative emotional situation /daydream/imagining, you concentrate on where the ‘attack’ will come from. In a positive daydream/imagining there is no attack.
Ok, so?
In a dream where you are in a state of panic or anxiety, take advantage of the fact that you automatically focus-down to narrow your perception. Use this to your advantage by realizing that this is only a daydream and therefore you are in complete command. Use this command ability to lessen and then completely eliminate the aspect that causes you anxiety.
Think of Push-ups and Sit-ups. No ‘one’ does the job, but a lot of them in-a-row causes a definite improvement in your physical body. Mental /visual imaginings of the same scene with you insisting and changing the emotional response each time will soon cause you to actually become bored with that particular situation. Then it’s on to the next emotional non-desired situation.
At first it is difficult because of the virtually instant emotional response /reaction. Soon, however, you find yourself tackling the hardest ones with a degree of ease that will surprise you.
