255 Prepare, Defend
To properly defend yourself, you prepare for all contingencies.
You do all you possibly can, ahead of time.
.
And then one of two things happens:
1. Because you are so very heavy with all the preparations, mental, emotional or physical – imagine wearing full gas, biological, radiation & armor protection – you can’t move, … and you become the very thing you tried to protect against. Defenseless. A sitting target.
2. Or you limit your exposure (and adventures!) to whatever you are sure you can defend against, respond to, protect your frail Self Image from.
While traveling the world I sometimes got diarrhea.
I did nothing about it, so my body learned to defend itself.
When I returned there I was fine, because I had become immune.
There was no longer any-thing to defend against.
Introduce yourself to the very thing you want to protect against, and become immune to it.

To see if you’re manipulated in anything, just look for the opposite of what is commonly believed.
If you cannot easily see the opposite, you can readily be manipulated in that subject.
Alcohol is both Salvation and Temptation.
(It’s also a decent antiseptic!)
Having rich Parents makes for both an easy life and a hard life.
(It’s also a tremendous experience!)
Good food is Great & …Great!
Hmm, you can obviously see my bias in this subject.
Ok, so?
Well, you are manipulated through these biases.
To lessen the power /manipulation by others and rebalance yourself,

253 Just-in-Case
Survival depends on being totally ready for what ‘might’ happen.
Specially, if it’s an animal who might attack at any moment.
Seeing animal tracks and knowing its attack pattern is not good enough.
By the time you actually see the animal, it’s usually too late.
So you have a system that monitors your thinking.
If you think an animal ‘may’ be nearby, you prepare /tense just-in-case.
Then when it attacks, you’re already prepared to act /react.
These days we have a far more complex situation …with the same system inside us.
When you think of what you owe, or worry if a loved one is safe or…
your system responds to your thinking /thoughts and tenses you up, just-in-case.
Hence high blood pressure, tension, inability to sleep and so on, are mostly created by your own thoughts /thinking.
Just in case.
OK, so?
Here’s a simple way to make this system work for you.
Take a moment, sit somewhere and imagine your big toe can be ‚unscrewed‘.
SLOWLY unscrew it and watch the fluid /tension SLOWLY drain out of your body.
This system works both ways, why not use it to your advantage.

A threat is perceived when two unrelated subjects are presented at-the-same-time.

Eat all your vegetables or… I will spank you /you can’t go out to play = Threat
Eat all your vegetables or… you may not be as healthy as you could be. No Threat.
Also, to prevent the perception of threat, present Options
The less options I believe I have, the more threatened I feel.
Sooo, when you next feel threatened, look for options.
„Well, that’s the point. There are no options. That’s why I feel threatened.“
Not so, actually.
It’s just that you do not see the options that are there, if you look.
And by not looking you continue to not see them.
Presume there are Options and look for them.
Then, with a lowered threat level, solutions flow.
