474 It’s all Relative

Ever wonder what it’s be like to be rich?

Simple:

First round out your yearly income. (ie: $48,568 becomes $50,000 etc.)

Next choose a large income to see what it’s like with that much money.

Let’s say $1,000,000 per year.

Divide your $50,000 into the $1,000,000 and you get 20.

Now, whatever you think a rich person spends to enjoy their wealth, you divide by 20.

So if this wealthy person would spend $1,000 per night on a hotel suite, divide that by 20 and you get $50.

Would you, with your income, spend $50 to stay in a nice hotel? Yes, of course. And would you consider that a lot of money. No.

That’s what the wealthy person thinks of spending $1,000 per night on a hotel suite.

Choose a truly wealthy person, say $3,000,000 per year.

Divide by your $50,000 and you get 60.

Now a $5,000 hotel suite is $85.

A $1,000 meal (with friends!) is $17.

A $120,000 automobile is …$2,000.

A $12,000,000 (!) palace… $200,000

Now you know what it’s like to be rich.

To those on a $15,000 pension, a $15 meal is a $50 equivalent on your income.

Now you know what it’s like to not be rich.

It’s all relative!
