Often people polarize things into
Do /Don’t — Yes /No — Right /Wrong, … annnd, you’re for me or you’re against me.
That’s one of the major causes of conflicts, both inter-personal and inter-national.
These are the brittle good/bad reactions that accompany the inexperienced (aka: nouveau riche or nouveau powerful … or nouveau parents!)
Every time we think our Either – Or conclusions are God given and God authorized, ‘reality’ intervenes and we all learn.
In World War I the point was to nobly march standing up into the machine guns’ fire from the other side.
If you tried to duck, your own person would shoot you dead.
SO better a possible /probable situation than a certainty of death.
The slogans were variously: Got Mit Uns, In God We Trust, etc.
Then around World War II the word Strategy was introduced into our thinking.
Ducking bullets now changed from cowardice to clever strategy.
Life is a lot more than one point of view.
Good writers can get me to consider only one particular point of view to achieve their aims in writing their stories.
And I readily read them.
And then read someone else’s novel the next day.
I believe if I read enough novels I become immune to any one point of view.
When you next feel you’re in an impossible situation consider AND – AND instead of Either – Or.
See how quickly things clear up.

Ce sont les réactions fragiles de bien/mal qui accompagnent les inexpérimentés (connus comme : nouveau riche, nouveau puissant …ou nouveaux parents!)
A chaque fois que nous pensons que nos conclusions de ou Ça – ou Ça sont données par Dieu et authorisées par Dieu, la réalité intervient et nous apprenons tous.
Dans la première guerre mondiale, l’important était de noblement marcher vers les mitrailleuses qui faisaient feu de l’autre côté.
Si vous aviez baissé la tête, votre propre compatriote vous aurait tué d’une balle.
DONC une situation possible/probable est préférable à une situation d’une mort certaine.
Les slogans étaient diversement: Got Mit Uns, Nous croyons en Dieu, etc.
Puis, vers la deuxième guerre mondiale le mot Stratégie a été introduit dans notre manière de penser.
Éviter des balles est passé de la lâcheté à des stratégies intelligentes.
La vie est plus qu‘un point de vue.
Les bons écrivains peuvent m’amener à considérer un seul point de vue pour atteindre leur but en écrivant leurs histoires.
Et je les lis facilement et rapidement.
Et le jour suivant, je lis le roman de quelqu’un d’autre.
Je crois que si je lis suffisamment de romans, je deviens immunisé contre n’importe quel point de vue.
Quand vous sentez que vous êtes dans une situation impossible considérez ET/ET au lieu de ou Ça – ou Ça.
Voyez la rapidité avec laquelle les choses se clarifient.
