272 Make a Note

This one is so simple, yet almost no one does it!

When listening to someone speak, make a note of the idea /thing that causes you to think.

That way you can keep on listening without missing anything.

Usually you start to think about whatever was just said … at the expense of the next things being said.

The exact same thing applies when you have an idea as someone speaks to you.

Have them wait a moment until you somehow make a mental note of that idea. Then you freely continue to pay attention because you are comfortable that the idea is not lost. This way you can listen to a lot more than you
otherwise would, because you simply have no need to think about what was just said.

Time enough later when you review your notes, mental or otherwise.
