When I grow up I want to be a … doctor, lawyer, fireman, etc.
Now that you are this, you can look back and realize that had you fully realized
just how much effort it took, you probably would not have even tried in the first place.
Same thing for marriage and having children.
Same thing for those disasters you had.
You had no idea how to handle them.
Yet you did.
You became what you chose to become. (Or settled for what you settled for.)
Now you are looking at some new challenges, especially in this economy, and you wonder if you can “make it”.
Well the only change in you is that now you are aware of what it takes to become… whatever you choose.
AND you now also have a LOT more knowledge and understanding than ever before.
So don’t hold that new awareness against your self.
Next time you wonder if you’ll make it,
realize you made it before without all your current knowledge,
ignore your new ‘awareness’, and just do it.
