171 Not Nice, Selfish

I finally found a gasoline (petrol) station open all night

And I really needed some!

I put $8 worth in my tank and went to pay.

The all-night guy was busy reading something.

I placed a $10 bill on the counter and he gave me back $12.

He thought I had given him a $20 bill.

Obviously.

I said I gave him only $10 and returned the extra $10.

He thanked me and commented on how nice I was for dong this.

“Nice has absolutely nothing to do with it,” I replied,

“If you are always short there’s no profit in staying open all night and then where do I go.”

I’m not nice, I’m selfish.

I hold the door open because you have parcels and I don’t. Not because I am nice.

And maybe when I have parcels…
