Do it

343 One-Way Street

There are no one-way streets.

There can’t be.

Any more than stairs that only go up.

Or Uphill without Downhill. /

Ok, so?

We usually interpret what people say /do in just One Way.

And re-enforce our conclusions, once again.

Which is fine, …unless things are not working as well as you wish with that person /job /situation.

That is when you remind yourself that there is no such thing as a One-Way … anything!

Look at the other way, the other interpretation and don’t be surprised if you are the one who changes your self.

Less than a minute to read this, however you need to try it on virtually everything and everyone for 3 or 4 days to get real results.

My wife says she is going to try it on me and what I do /say. (!)

  1. GR,

Interesting perspective that really gets to lexicon artifacts.
The correct marking would be “One Way Traffic” which in turn assumes one desires to go with the flow or tolerate the consequences.
The ‘one way’ interpretation reminds me of a joke about programmers:

Programmer’s Wife (PW): “Please go to the store and get a half gallon of milk; and if they have eggs, get six.”
Programmer (P): Departs and does as instructed, returning in a short while with six half gallons of milk.
PW: “Why on earth did you get six jugs of milk?!”
    P: Because they had eggs.

Programmers really see things one way….

  4. Notice how people invariably do exactly the opposite of what they say they are going to do? And, most of the time, are totally unware of this? From small things, “I think I’ll order the Rumpsteak” and then when it comes to placing their order with the waiter say “Oh, I’ll take the fried fish”. To more serious decisions
