The first time you set out to write a book /exercise /learn something

you get no encouragement other than traditional family and friends.

And only that one time.

You are completely on your own to continue or not.

It’s your choice to write that book /lift those weights /diet etc.

To achieve anything important to you, you must decide to do this by yourself, no matter what.

A book has over 300 pages. Each one written (and re-written!) because you say so and not because anyone else is truly encouraging you … again, other than loyal family and friends.

And even they don’t unless you bring it up.

So why say this?

Because all too often we somehow look for someone or something to cause us to pass to action.

And that won’t happen, because…

It is not mean, nor does it have anything against you.
The water responds exactly to your actions.
No more, and NO less.

And that’s where you don’t get it.

Start pumping /working and the water starts to rise. Results start to happen.

Keep on working — with no (visible!) results and the water keeps rising.
However the instant you stop pumping, the water starts to recede.
Sick? Tired? Discouraged? Fed Up?
It doesn’t matter, the water recedes.

When you get ‘motivated’ and try again, the work is the same as the first time you pumped the water.
And you say “This is never going to work. Here I am, my sixth time pumping, and still no results.
Nothing is happening.”

So, what do successful people do, that you don’t?
They don’t stop pumping.
No matter the reason.

Sooo, if you stop you guarantee you will not see what to do /where to go from here.

Keep going and, from a new place, you will then see where to go or what to do next.

Don’t stop.
