Do it

198 Repetition

When you respond the exact same way to every situation then you are not responding to events, you are establishing sameness. ie: control

Now this is excellent if it’s an attitude of problem solving.

But not so effective if it’s always a Hearty Laugh, a Huge Smile, excessive Politeness or a slight frown.

And absolutely everyone sees ‘through’ it.

You do.

When you meet some friends or even people you’ve just slightly more than a passing acquaintance with, you immediately know what type of face they are showing.

And you dismiss it.

But you are also polite and so you don’t say anything. Yet you do not believe for one minute they are actually genuine.

They display their complete inability to respond to different input.

Would you put someone like that in charge of, well … anything?

Next time you sincerely believe it’s best to repeat your actions, (again!) ask yourself who is actually buying this act.

Not you, when ‘they’ do it.

Someone once told me to consider my self with Volume controls.

Turning down the Volume is far easier than turning it off.

Next time you start to instinctively repeat, turn down the Volume control somewhat and see the people around you act no differently.

Eventually you won’t burden yourself with any repetitive actions.
