You know what they are. They are the tiny things that make the machinery work. Without keeping them oiled things screech to a halt. Literally. In human terms, the oil is a smile, a thank you, an apology. Smile too much, apologize too much and you add too much oil onto your Ball Bearings. Things do NOT go better because you under /over do the oil. They actually go worse. When you want things to improve STOP what you are doing and ask yourself: Do I need to ADD or LESSEN (yes, lessen!) the amount of oil this time? ————————– To reinforce this read any two below: #11 Feedback – 27 Responses – 71 Nice – 86 Don’t be Yourself! – 175 Self Worth

231 Statement
A statement is a close-ended thing.
“I can’t do this.”
A question is open-ended.
‘Why can’t I do this?’
“I don’t know how to.”
‘How do I learn to?’
One keeps you where you are, the other gets you where you want to go.
“This is my best.”
“How can I improve?”
“I’ve had enough.”
‘How can I learn to do more?’
Of course if you are happy where you are, a statement is fine.
If not, next time change it into a question.

218 Something
Saying “Stop that!” won’t get a child to stop doing something.
Because, then the child has nothing.
And no one wants nothing.
So, what you say is “Oooh, loook at this!!”
And the child automatically stops whatever they are doing and looks.
At something.
Do you have something/someone ‘useless’ around you because it’s better-than-nothing?
Then you will not let go, no matter what.
Hmmm, not no matter what…
Rather, until you have something/someone else.
So the way out of a non-productive business/personal situation is to do something, anything else.
Then, and only then, you find that other something/someone.

216 Lies
Lies are basically wishes-in-disguise. The fish was THIS big. I wish the fish was this big. I am a rich person. I wish I was a rich person. So when someone lies, you see what their wish is. This helps you interact with them a bit better. Same goes with yourself. You KNOW which things you lie about. These are the things you wish were true. The problem is, the lie substitutes for the ‘real’ because you think it’s enough to tell the lie rather than get the wish. Start looking for ways to make them come true. One at a time. Bit-by-bit. That’s how it’s done in any case. A bit at a time. ————————– To reinforce this read any two below: # 10 Progress It – 24 The Wedge – 28 Getting What I Want! – 32 Red Light, Green Light 37 Or Its Equivalent – 58 Needs – 74 Dictating Your Miracle – 201 One by One

215 Knowing
Count the number of ‘F’s in this simple sentence:
Finished files are the result of years of scientific research.
(Play the game = get the results!)
Most people are human (!)
They substitute ‘knowing’ for seeing.
When you don’t get the results you wish,
take another look, this time with your awareness rather than your ‘knowingness’
and you’ll see all 5 ‘F’s first time around.
