Mein Bruder übernachtete immer bei mir, wenn er kam, um meine Geschäfte zu überprüfen.
Während der einstündigen Fahrt nach Hause konnten wir frei sprechen, ohne von anderen missverstanden zu werden.
Er war extrem klug und ich mochte, wie er mich zum Denken brachte.
Einmal sagte er: “Wenn jemand gut ist, gibst du ihm eine Gehaltserhöhung und/oder einen Bonus.“
Ich dachte nach und wunderte mich, was daran so tiefgründig sein sollte.
Ein paar Minuten später sagte er: „Andererseits, wenn sie nicht so gut sind, gibst du ihnen ein bisschen Geld und feuerst sie.“
Wieder dachte ich nach, immer noch nichts.
Dann sagte er: „ Wie kommt es dann, dass Leute gut sind, aber nicht so gut und schlecht, aber nicht so schlecht, so dass du nicht weißt, was du mit ihnen machen sollst.“
Ich lächelte und sagte: „Paul, hör auf, über Dich und mich zu sprechen.“
Das ist genau, was die Realität verglichen mit all deinen Gedanken und Plänen ist.
Nicht schwarz oder weiß. Grau.
Es gibt einen Spruch: Wenn Du Gott zum Lachen bringen willst, erzähl ihm deine Pläne.
Wenn du also glaubst, du hast alles durchgeplant/gedacht, dann gib einfach noch etwas dazu: Gib „Grau“ zu deinem Schwarz und Weiss und du wirst wesentlich besser vorbereitet sein für das, was passieren wird.

My brother would stay at my place when he came to oversee my business.
On the hour drive we would freely speak with no chance of being misunderstood by others.
As he was extremely smart I always appreciated how he made me think.
Once he said “If a person is good, then you give them a raise and /or promotion.”
I thought about it wondering what was so very profound about that.
A few minutes later he said “On the other hand if they are no good, you give them some money and fire them.”
Again I thought about it, and still nothing.
Then he said “So how come people are good but not that good, and bad but not that bad, and you never quite know what to do with them.”
I smiled and said “Paul, stop talking about you and me.”
That is what reality is all about as compared to thoughts or plans.
Not black and white. Grey.
There’s a saying: If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.
When you believe you have everything planned /thought out, add just one more thing.
Add ‘grey’ to your black and white and you’ll be better prepared for what will happen.

Encore une fois j’ai pensé à ça et rien ne m’est venu à l’esprit .
Alors il dit: “Comment se fait-il que que les gens sont bons mais pas trop bons et mauvais mais pas trop mauvais et que tu ne sais pas vraiment quoi faire d’eux.”
Alors j’ai souri et j’ai dit: “Paul arrête de parler de toi et de moi.”
C’est ça la réalité comparée aux pensées ou aux plans.
Pas noir et blanc. Gris.
Il y a un dicton: Si vu veux faire rire Dieu, dis-lui tes plans.
Quand vous croyez que vous avez tout soigneusement planifié et pensé ajoute une chose de plus. Ajoutez du gris à votre noir et blanc et vous serez mieux preparé à ce qui va se produire.
