Do it

72 Technique

All of us use various techniques to solve each of our problems.
Just look at all the techniques to diet or stop smoking, for example.

What’s not so well known is you think by using a technique ‘you’ are not really solving the problem. The technique is doing the solving. And that’s not good enough.
So what you then do is go back to having that very same problem.
And you get discouraged.

Realize your decision to return to having that problem comes from your need to solve it by yourself and you won’t be so discouraged.
You see, you really need to know the problem can be solved.
That’s first. And you use a technique to do so.

Now you know you can solve it, you give it back to yourself so that ‘you’ can solve it.
By yourself.
Without techniques.
Once you decide that, you can actually use a technique. Then it’s OK!
(You might want to read the above again!)

That this is exactly how it happens should prevent you from getting discouraged the next time something happens, again!

Comments

  1. To use another problem: someone who gets into debt and borrows more money (the technique) to pay off the debts will end up with the same problem until they realize that they can solve the problem by increasing their earnings (isn’t this just another technique?) Or someone who has been married three times thinks that by changing partners his/her relationships will improve but it’s only when they change their own behavior that this happens?
Is the reference to using a technique another way of saying that we can look outside of ourselves for a solution to the problem but it’s only when we realize that the solution comes from inside that it really works? And then its about responsibility and ownership rather than technique isn’t it?
