You cannot draw a line using only one point as reference.

You need at least two points.

OK, so?

Well, you also need two events.

Two. Not just one.

How many things now influence you based on experiencing just one event. 

One time. 

One point.

The Boston Marathon comes to mind.

So does any one-time act of terror.

And that event last week, …whenever you read this!

The reverse is also true.

If you are continuously on a line that has many, many points on it,

what exactly do you think tomorrow brings if you stay on that line.

Hmmm, let’s see now, there’s more than two points, so I can easily say:

Exactly the same.
