What you now do = 100% And you want more. There is no more time (24 hours/day) So you must re-decide priorities. And then do the impossible Put 200% into whatever you decide. Which makes your learning curve steeper and faster. 200%, at first, is a lot to do. Yet very quickly it ‘becomes’ 150% then 100%… But in a different gear. (See # 119 ) And now you cruise at a much higher speed /result /income. In the same 24 hours as everyone else. It’s the initial decision and initial action that makes all the difference. Create tomorrow, or reproduce yesterday. ————————– To reinforce this read any two below: # 1 Ferris Wheel – 12 Change – 17 Impossible Decisions – 24 The Wedge 32 Red Light, Green Light – 82 Limitations – 87 Barriers – 96 Habits 107 Iron – 119 Gears – 133 Plenty of Peas – 163 When I Grow Up – 164 20% 172 Sky or Steel? – 196 Past, Present & Future – 201 One by One – 210 Second Thing

223 One Hour
There are 24 hours in a day. Everyday.
The % of time you devote to create your future = the % probability you’ll have that future.
One hour a day is a tremendous amount of time.
First eliminate the ‘constants’
8 hours sleep
2 hours eat/groom
2 hours travel
8 hours work
The 4 hours left are your variable.
So to invest just One Hour – not on ‘maintenance’ – a day,
represents 25% of your time, …creating your future!
What progress do you make when you do that elsewhere?
Computer games, hobby, etc. (Look at your ‘results’ You got there a bit at a time)
Now it’s time to invest One Hour in your future
The first 20 minutes or so, you settle in. (Stay with it!)
The next 20 minutes, you barely start to become effective
(Make those calls, Write that article/book, Brainstorm your invention, etc.)
Don’t stop! The last 20 minutes are usually the most productive.
It takes the first 40 minutes to make the last 20 minutes most effective.
Invest One Hour in your future.
Consider the alternative…

210 Second Thing
I had a job that paid $75 /week. (1966!)
AND kept trying different things on the side.
It made no difference when they did not ‘work’ because they were my Second Thing.
When ordering a Pizza one Sunday night around 9 pm I was told it would be 45 minutes.
I asked why.
Because they were really backed up with Deliveries. (Their Second Thing)
If you are not satisfied with your situation you need a Second Thing.
A Part-time hourly job is simply an extension of your First thing.
(And a Lottery is an illusion.)
By the end of 1966 I tried Direct Sales as my 17th (!) Second Thing.
Within four months I earned just over $1,000. That month.
(My 16 previous efforts obviously contributed to my current speed-of-success.)
Then I gave up my First thing.
Almost by definition a Second Thing is something that is NOT whatever you do as your First thing.
It’s something with a variable in it.
Don’t give up your day job,
ADD a Second Thing to your life in total safety.

201 One by One
How many more books do I have to read before I grow up?
“Just a few more,” is correct.
Not 1,387 !!
At the rate the child can read now it’s actually misleading to state almost any number.
And so it is with our self.
The decisions / changes I make in life are valid at that time AND lead me to then see other needed changes.
Things I could not see until I made those first changes / decisions.
I am not continuously doing the same thing over and over.
I am doing different
things. (Look and see how this is true in your life!)
It seems endless, in one way.
And, in one way, it is.
BUT the changes are always different.
The steps I took in my past seemed so large at the time and yet now seem so small, that the steps I see for my future will not be as daunting as they ‘now’ seem to be.
When you are ‘low’ or down, rather than agree with yourself (!) look at how hard you used to think things were,
things that you can now do almost without thinking.
And all this was accomplished One by One.
From now on separate things into individual actions / decisions and do them…
One by One

196 Past, Present & Future
I write this ‘now’ (Saturday May 22, 2010)
and you read it ‘now’… not Saturday May 22
I am your past and you are my future!
———————————————-
The Present was created in the Past.
Today ends at midnight.
The Present is when you actually do things.
You can:
* Regret the Past
* Mope around
* Take the day off
OR
* Set seeds for your Future
Your Present is daily proof that your Past created your Future.
You are now in the Past’s Future,
and it’s the Present.
If Yesterday created Today
then Today IS creating Tomorrow.
Be Here, Now, and plant seeds T – O – D – A – Y
for a better Tomorrow.
Do just one thing and see how easily this works.
