These people Make Mistakes: Loans officers who never have a bad loan are so very conservative that they exceed the built-in allowances of their company. And turn down too many people under the guise that they don’t want to be seen as making a mistake in their company. Sales people who never have a ‘return’ are so conservative that they avoid any sale that is not 100% bulletproof. This results in a lot fewer sales than they would otherwise make. You, who strive to never make a mistake, avoid so many situations where you could actually learn “how to” rather than avoid “lest you”. All are mistakes! Inoculations / vaccines introduce the very thing that you are trying to stay away from, so your body can learn and build immunities. In future when you take on the LIVE equivalent you have no problem with it. The next time you instinctively avoid something, lest you make a mistake, take a chance and (possibly) make a mistake, if you see what I mean. ————————– These are related: # 21 Interpretation – 40 So What! – 45 Problems – 66 Opposites – 98 Third Time – 106 Plan B

157 Self Assembly
At a car assembly line you see parts go in one end and cars come out the other.
If you walk through, you also see it takes a week for the parts to become a car.
Yet cars come out at the rate of one-per-minute.
Your ‘self’ is exactly like that.
To re-gear for a different assembly takes some time … to show!
Parts are now being changed to accommodate your new choices, new desires, new image.
New things are now being done.
All this without stopping the line.
You are working around yourself. And that takes time.
Yet you stand at the end of the line and still see the old you coming out.
So you get discouraged, which stops the changes.
Then you get enthused again and restart those same changes.
And stop again. And …
When you start to get discouraged because something triggers you into seeing a part of your old self acting up, remember this is happening while the assembly line is running. So, of course you’ll see the old self come through.
Now take a look at the bits and pieces that are the new self. They are also there.
Then, instead of being discouraged by the old parts, you feel encouraged by the new ones.
And the changes speed up.

153 All-At-Once
I helped a friend move some furniture. And felt a bit sore the next day.
If I move all the furniture I have ever moved over the years all-at-once,
I would be very sore and ache all over for quite a while.
It’s exactly the same thing when you take all of your thoughts that you could think on any one subject that is worrying you, and start imagining all those things all-at-once. All your debts, all your worries about a family member, all, …well you get it.
Don’t be surprised if you end up depressed, with a headache, low, discouraged, demoralized, etc.
How did you think you would end up if you did all of that all-at-once? Happy? Pleased? Relaxed?
Time prevents everything from happening at once.
Stop eliminating time: change the subject, fix a certain hour /time to bring these things to mind.

12 Change
People resist change because they’re not all that sure that they’ll like what they change to.
Don’t worry, once you change, the new state is not the last place for you.
It’s ‘only’ a stepping-stone, and not an end result.
Doing what makes you happy allows you to take the next step.
Calling what makes you happy ‘Indulgence’ simply gives you a purposeful barrier.
You only think doing what makes you happy is ‘wrong’ or self indulgent.
But that is only a stepping-stone, too!
If you think change is a one time ‘perfect’ maneuver well, …good luck!
NOBODY in this world achieves that.
Take the first step, knowing that change is a stepping stone to, and not an end result.
I now see that when I changed, those very changes were not the end result for me but led me to other things.
Look into your past and see how the above is true for you!
Make yourself happy. Start with the easiest change first.

9 Worry
Worry: Keeping something I have NOT YET solved in my consciousness
lest I forget it’s not-yet-solved and it somehow overwhelms me.
I used to worry.
One day I got into my car and immediately started to worry about things at the office.
Then I said to myself: Daphne (my secretary) will absolutely bring these matters to my attention the moment I arrive.
So I put them out of my mind for the ride.
On my arrival I was immediately reminded.
On my way home I repeated the same self assurance: Tomorrow she will surely remind me of my current worries/problems, I need not worry /think about them on my way home.
I am pleased to say I have not worried since.
(It only works when you’re POSITIVE that someone /something will remind you.)
